Earth Day Every Day: What That Actually Means at HYPEACH
Every April, Earth Day comes around and the fashion industry does something predictable: brands that spend 364 days contributing to one of the most polluting industries on the planet post something green and call it a commitment.
We started HYPEACH because we wanted to be different. Not different in a press release — different in how we actually make things, what we use to make them, and who we make them for.
Earth Day reminds us why we started. But the commitment we made isn't seasonal. It's every day.
Why Fashion Needs to Slow Down
In an industry built on speed, we choose to slow down.
That's not a marketing line. It's a business decision we make constantly, in ways that cost us more money and take more time. We create pieces with care, reduce excess, and prioritize materials and processes that are gentler on the earth and on our bodies. Every single time, we choose the harder right over the easier wrong.
Here's what that looks like in practice.
What "Earth Day Every Day" Actually Looks Like at HYPEACH
Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certified
Every piece we make is tested for 350+ harmful substances — hormone disruptors, carcinogens, heavy metals, pesticide residues. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification isn't a marketing badge. It's a third-party verification that what you're putting on your body has been rigorously tested.
Most fashion brands can't say that.
BCI-Certified Organic Cotton
Our cotton is BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) certified — grown without harmful pesticides, using less water, supporting sustainable farming practices. Conventional cotton is one of the most chemically intensive crops on the planet. BCI certification means our supply chain starts cleaner.
As clean as you can get. That's the standard we hold ourselves to.
Plant-Based Performance Fabrics
We use Sorona — a plant-based performance fiber made from renewable corn ingredients rather than petroleum. It performs like a synthetic without the environmental cost of petroleum-derived fabrics. Natural at its core, without compromising on how it wears or washes.
Made in the Americas
Every piece is manufactured domestically or regionally. This isn't just an environmental decision — it's a transparency one. Short supply chains mean we know exactly where our clothes are made, who made them, and under what conditions. We can trace every piece. That matters to us, and it should matter to you.
1% For the Planet
We're proud 1% For the Planet partners. That means 1% of every sale goes directly to environmental causes — ocean restoration, land conservation, climate action. Not when we hit a certain revenue milestone. Every sale, every time.
When you shop at HYPEACH, you're a 1% For the Planet partner too.
Repreve Recycled Fabrics
Our swimwear is made with Repreve — fabric made from post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. No virgin petroleum synthetics. The ocean imagery in our swim campaigns isn't just aesthetic. It's a commitment: we're not adding to the problem.
Making Less, Making Better
April reminds us that this is about making less, but making it better — for today, and for the future.
The sustainable fashion movement gets a lot of criticism for being inaccessible. Too expensive. Too niche. Too complicated. We built HYPEACH specifically to disprove that. Certified organic materials, transparent supply chains, plant-based fabrics — at $40 to $145. Because caring about the planet shouldn't require a luxury budget.
This is the work. Not a campaign, not a moment. A commitment we renew every single day we open the doors at 8360 Melrose Avenue and every order that goes out.
What You Can Do
Sustainable fashion is a journey. It doesn't happen overnight and it doesn't require perfection. It starts with one decision: choosing to buy something made with intention rather than speed.
Calculate cost-per-wear, not just sticker price. A $95 HYPEACH dress you wear 50 times costs $1.90 per wear. A $30 fast fashion dress you wear three times costs $10 per wear. Quality is the most sustainable choice you can make.
Ask questions. If a brand claims to be sustainable, they should be able to tell you exactly what that means — which certifications, which materials, where it was made. Vague answers are red flags. We answer every question, every time.
Wear your values. What you put on your body every morning is a choice. Make it one you feel good about.
Earth Day, Every Day
We didn't start HYPEACH for Earth Day. We started it because we believe fashion can be a force for good — for the women who wear it, for the communities we're part of, and for the planet we all share.
That belief doesn't have a day on the calendar. It's in every stitch, every certification, every piece we put our name on.
Come visit us on Melrose. Feel the difference that intention makes.
Earth Day Every Day.
