Best Boutiques on Melrose Avenue: Our Favorite Stops for Women's Fashion
Melrose Avenue has always had a reputation for being one of the best streets in Los Angeles for fashion — and that reputation is earned. But Melrose is also long, and not every block delivers the same experience. If you're coming specifically for women's boutiques — the kind of places where you'll find something you can't get at the mall — this guide is for you.
We've kept this list focused and honest. These are the boutiques worth making time for, organized by what kind of shopper you are.
If You Want Sustainable & Conscious Fashion
HYPEACH 8360 Melrose Ave, West Hollywood | Free parking in back lot Hours: Tuesday–Sunday, 11am–5pm
We're obviously biased, but we belong on this list. HYPEACH is a women's boutique built around one idea: that fashion can be clean, affordable, and made with intention. Everything we carry is made in the Americas using organic cottons, plant-based performance fabrics, and Oeko-Tex certified dyes — no harmful chemicals, no overseas fast fashion supply chains. Prices run $40–$145, which means sustainable fashion here doesn't require a luxury budget. If you're trying to build a wardrobe that reflects what you actually care about, this is a good place to start.
We also have free parking in our back lot off Kings Road — one of the easier parking situations on this stretch of Melrose.
If You Want Designer & Investment Pieces
Anine Bing 8211 Melrose Ave, West Hollywood
One of the most recognizable names on Melrose right now. The Swedish designer's aesthetic is classic with a rocker edge — think perfect blazers, silk shirts, and trend-proof silhouettes. Her Melrose flagship is worth a visit even if you're just browsing. The clothes are genuinely well-made and hold up over time.
Cult Gaia 8440 Melrose Ave, West Hollywood
Known for sculptural handbags and a distinctly LA take on femme dressing. The Melrose store — nicknamed "the Temple" — is designed like a gallery, which makes it an experience as much as a shopping trip. Expect statement pieces, architectural silhouettes, and prices to match.
Paul Smith 8221 Melrose Ave, West Hollywood
The iconic pink wall out front has become one of the most photographed spots on Melrose — but the store itself is worth going inside. British tailoring with a playful, colorful sensibility. Great for gifts and accessories if clothing is out of budget.
If You Want Vintage & Secondhand
Wasteland 7428 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles
A Melrose institution. Wasteland is a large consignment shop with an ever-rotating inventory of designer pieces, vintage finds, and everyday staples — all at prices well below retail. It's the kind of store where you can find a Helmut Lang blazer next to a perfect '90s denim jacket. Worth a dedicated browse.
If You Want Emerging & Independent Designers
Maxfield 8825 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles
One of the most celebrated concept stores in Los Angeles, housed in a striking Art Deco building. Maxfield carries luxury brands alongside high-end streetwear from local designers, and the store itself functions almost like a gallery. A Melrose landmark.
Flirt Clothing & Accessories 7423 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles
A local favorite that regularly comes up when people talk about boutiques that feel different from the rest of the street. More sophisticated than the average Melrose shop, with brands and styles you won't find everywhere. Good for those who find most of the strip too trendy or too similar across stores.
A Note on Shopping Melrose
The boutique experience on Melrose is concentrated in a few key zones. The West Hollywood stretch — roughly between La Cienega and Fairfax — is where you'll find most of the higher-end designer and sustainable boutiques, including HYPEACH. As you move east toward La Brea and beyond, the vibe shifts toward vintage, streetwear, and more independent stores.
If you're planning a full day, the West Hollywood end is the right place to start. Parking is easier here (our back lot on Kings Road is free), and you'll have more walkable ground to cover before the street changes character.
For parking tips across the whole strip, see our Melrose Avenue Parking Guide. For restaurants along the way, check out our Where to Eat on Melrose Avenue guide.
Building a Wardrobe Worth Keeping
One thing the best boutiques on Melrose have in common: they're not selling disposable fashion. Whether it's Anine Bing's trend-proof tailoring, Wasteland's carefully selected secondhand, or HYPEACH's certified sustainable basics — the stores worth your time on this street are the ones where what you buy will still be in your closet in three years.
That's always been what Melrose does best: a place to find something with a point of view.
HYPEACH is located at 8360 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood (free parking in our back lot off Kings Road). Open Tuesday–Sunday, 11am–5pm. Visit us in store or shop online.
